!: Pocket Folder Wedding Invitations - This Year's Hot Trend

Elegant and sophisticated, wedding pocket folders are becoming more and more popular with todays' couples. A pocket folder is a trifold that opens up to reveal the invitation in the center and a side pocket with the RSVP card and envelope in it. Most of these printable invitation kits come with a vellum sheet that goes over middle section. Below, are suggestions for creative ways to make your wedding invite truly unique.

1. Have Fun With Color: The color you choose for your pocket folder can range from a beautiful Pearl or Silver Mist to bright Watermelon Pink, Flame Orange or Elegant Black. Choose your color based on the following criteria: the kind of wedding your having, formal or informal; the bridal colors; the time of year; and of course, your personal favorite.

2. Have Fun With Printing: There are three ways that you can really personalize your invites: wording and font styles; contrasting ink colors; and printing the vellum. If you are having a formal wedding, the invitations are usually written in the third person style in a classic font such as Roman. For informal weddings, you are limited only by your imagination. Many websites offer examples of wording and font styles that are unique--so do some research and experiment with the wording and font style that best fits your day.

Ink Colors are also a great way to be creative with your invites. For formal weddings, black or gold inks are the usual choices. For informal ones, you can use green, pink, blue or any other color that suits your fancy. Just make sure the ink is strong enough to be read easily.

Printing the Vellum is also a very popular trend. Usually the vellum is printed with the first names of the bride and groom in a contrasting ink color and then placed over the printed invitation. So for example, "Michael & Katie" could be printed in pink ink on the vellum that overlays the invite printed in black ink.

3. Have Fun With Embellishments: Once you have printed and assembled your pocket folder, you have to fasten it shut in some manner. You can use ribbons tied either in a love knot or bow. The ribbon can also match the bridal colors and are perfect for either formal or informal invitations. So, for example if you are having a formal wedding with lilac bridal colors, you may choose a Pearl folder and lilac ribbons. For an informal wedding, you may choose Watermelon pink with silver ribbons. Another way to fasten your invite is by using self adhesive gem stones. These can be found in any craft store in the scrapbook section. These colored gems add surprise and a little daring. Also in the scrapbook section, look for wax kits that you can seal letters with. Although more time consuming, it really makes a statement.

With these difficult economic times, you want to be able to have an invitation that is beautiful, unique and affordable. Wedding Pocket folders are the perfect choice.
